Where to spend your bank holiday

Dockray Meadow Caravan site

Whether you’re looking for family fun or a place to take the dogs, you will find it everything you want in this site. The gorgeous scenery is filled with hills and trees and has plenty of dogs walks by the site. Cyclists will be pleased as the Coast to Coast cycle route is also nearby, so there is something for everyone here.

Scarborough Camping and Caravanning Club

This is a great site for exploring Yorkshire’s coast and moors! You can find the beach just a short walk away from the campsite or you can explore the town of Scarborough which has two sandy bays which is just 1.5 miles away from the site. There are so many options when you visit here, including the Cleveland Way National Trail, a miniature railway and the Sea Life & Marine sanctuary.

Burrs Country Park Caravan Club Site

This site gives easy access to the beautiful country park situated by Bury town centre, as well as being based around the River Irwell and the remains of two cotton mills. This site is in the picturesque countryside with numerous small villages and heritage to explore. Your furry friends are also welcome here! This is a site more suited to those wanting a quiet retreat.

Chertsey Caravan & Camping Site

On the banks of the Thames, this site offers gorgeous riverside views and walkers can enjoy the Thames Path Nature Trail. Families are close to Lego Land, Thorpe Park and Chessington World of Adventures if you fancy an exhilarating day! There’s also a local farm shop in Lyne which sells a range of home-grown fruit, vegetables, fresh bread, chutney and more.
